Overview
This
is the perfect extension for people who have a little more time
available and wish to see some of the coast and the amazing
Nazca Lines. This trip can be added to your vacation before
or after your main tour, please speak to us about matching it
to your main arrangements so you fully understand the timings
and schedule. We will send you, or hand you, written instructions
and an itinerary explaining everything in more detail.
Day
1
Your hotel will order a taxi to take you to the Soyuz bus station
where you will board one of the public express buses that travel
the coastal route every 10 minutes. This journey will take around
3.5 hours before getting off at the Pisco crossroads where you
will be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Your hotel
is right on the coast at Paracas and even has its own pier.
Upon arrival just relax and wander around the fishing village,
maybe trying the excellent seafood. Overnight Paracas.
Day
2
This morning you will leave from your private pier in motor
boats to visit the Ballestas Islands. You will get quite close
to the abundant seabirds, penguins and sea lions that call these
islands home. You may even see dolphins en route. In the afternoon
you can choose what to do, visit the Peninsular to see sea lion
colonies, walk around the fishing village, go fishing maybe
or sunbathe by the pool.

Day
3
After an early pick up by your driver and private car/van/bus
you will travel to the Huacachina Oasis near to the city of
Ica. The oasis is formed by a natural lagoon said to have medicinal
waters and is surrounded by huge sand dunes. Here you have the
option to just take it easy and enjoy the sun, do some sand-boarding
or take a sand buggy ride across the desert. After having lunch
here you will travel on a further 2 hours through the desert
to arrive in Nazca. You should arrive early enough to view a
couple of lines from the viewing tower on the main highway which
serves as a taster for the main event the following day. Your
hotel is an old hacienda with a swimming pool and is very relaxing
with superb staff. Overnight Nazca.
Day
4
Today you will be taken to see the ancient Chauchilla Cemetery
to see the mummies preserved there and then get to fly over
the amazing Nazca Lines. There are so many theories regarding
these huge lines in the desert that the mind boggles. You can
make your own mind up during the 40 minute flight in a small
plane. You will then have the chance to have a look around the
town of Nazca, maybe eating in a local restaurant or back at
your hotel. Overnight Nazca.
NOTE:
At this point you could choose to join Day 2 of the Peruvian
Highlights tour by taking the night bus from Nazca to Arequipa
and join any other passengers at our hotel. A discount will
be given in the local payment for the cost difference between
the flight and the bus used to arrive in the city of Arequipa.
Day
5
Leave Nazca according to the local bus schedules for the 6 hour
journey back to Lima along the coast. You will arrive in Lima
by late afternoon, perfect time to either join the main tour
(day 5 today then becomes day 1 of the main tour) or take your
international flight home.
Accommodation

4 nights accommodation in 3 star hotels with breakfast included.
Hotels all have private bathrooms, are clean, safe, tried and
tested with helpful staff.
Prices
are quoted per person, on a same sex, twin-share basis (unless
paying a single room supplement, please consult us).
Packing
You should pack clothing in layers so you can regulate your
temperature according to conditions. Mostly it will be hot and
dusty along the coast, very unusual to rain here but you never
know. Sandals will be fine most of the time and more sturdy
shoes if you wish.
Money
US dollars cash are almost standard currency here. Travelers
checks are not so useful but are accepted. ATMs are to be found
in Lima, Pisco, Ica and Nazca and are an excellent option. Local
currency is the Sol (Sun) and you can change money in various
places.

Arrival
in Lima at end of tour
Some people will fly out from Cusco and catch their homeward
flights in Lima the same day without staying the night. For
this reason we do not include a hotel or a transfer at the end
of the tour (keeping prices down). If either of these things
are required please let us know and we can arrange them, see
the section on optional extras below.

Booking
Send us an email with your travel dates and we will advise you
of departures we have planned at that time. When a date has
been fixed we will ask you for a 100% payment to secure your
places plus your full names, passport numbers, nationalities,
dates of birth and details of any medical conditions that could
effect you or other people during the tour.
Booking

domestic services are difficult to get hold of in high season.
