Leaving Cusco and traveling Southeast we pass firstly through the village of Tipón where we will visit the archeological site where the element of water is worshipped. We then continue to the lake of Huacarpay and from there follow the road towards Huambutio visiting Huancarani and Ninamarca. In Ninamarca it is possible to visit the ancient burial chambers (chullpas) and then continue onto Paucartambo, a very picturesque colonial village in the Mapacho River basin. We then continue our journey to Tres Cruces where we will spend the night.

The next day we get up very early at around 4.30am to see the impressive sunrise over the valley. Then we return via Paucartambo to pick up the route back to Cusco visiting the small community of Qollquepata on the way. Our final visit in the Sacred Valley of the Incas will be the town of Pisac where we can visit the ancient ruins and the colorful handicraft market before arriving back in Cusco.
